Great Guinness, Your Favourite Beers and Ales, wines and speciality coffee in Geashill, County Offaly.

Welcome to Hamilton’s Pub

Hamilton’s has been at the heart of Geashill since 1859. Some things change. The welcome hasn’t.

Situated in the heart of Geashill, our pub welcomes you to County Offaly with award-winning hospitality, creamy pints of Guinness and cold beers, classic drinks made to order, and coffee from Seccoto, a Portarlington-based speciality roaster.

The bar has traded under several names across its 165 years — The Corner House, The Castle Inn, D.E. Williams — but the building itself has barely changed. It is a protected structure, one of the most distinctive premises in the Midlands, and it carries that history lightly.

There is no performance here. Just a proper pub, with a real fire, good stock behind the bar, and the kind of quiet that makes people stay longer than they planned.

Street parking is available around the village green, a short walk from the bar. Geashill is a small village — nothing is far.

About Us

Hamilton’s, Geashill — Est. 1859
This building was constructed in 1859 for £298 12s 11d. It is a protected structure, listed for its architectural significance, and one of the most distinctive premises in the Midlands. Over the generations, it has been a shop, a corner house, a castle inn, and finally Hamilton’s — each name a chapter in a village that has been here long before any of us and will be here long after.

Geashill was named Ireland’s Tidiest Village in 2023. It is that kind of place. Small, proud, and with a strong sense of itself. The pub reflects that.

Today, Hamilton’s is what it has always been: somewhere people come to slow down. The fire is on. The pints are good. Thursday nights, the televisions go down low, and conversation takes over. On the last Saturday of the month, there are traditional musicians in an informal, unannounced setting, and it’s always worth it. The Monday Club has been meeting here for years and shows no sign of stopping.

That continuity is not accidental. It is what this place is.

Our Bar & Lounge

Geashill is one of the most welcoming villages in the Midlands — and the pub reflects that. People come in for one drink and stay for the evening

Wines, Coffee, Tea and Scones

Our passion for good wine is something we love to share – our wine list is ever changing, and we have introduced some new wines that will become favourites from €6.25 to €7.50 a glass

Next time you are in ask to see the list.  There are over 8 wines to choose from. Our coffee is excellent too and available when we are open, with a scone, apple tart or brownie.
